The first piece I am choosing to talk about is this one. It appears to be cassette tape film draped across a paper with some cassettes at the bottom. The piece gives off a very fun and spunky vibe. The tapes coming down the page remind me of streamers throw at a party or toilet paper being thrown at someones house. I also love how theres an everymely dark blue and a white and not really any other depth.

The other piece I am choosing to talk about is this one, which I feel like fits really well with the other piece. I appreciate how this piece is much more organized while the other is a little more sporadic and unorganized. I like how symmetrical the tapes are placed. I also like how he chose to have some on their dark sides and some are on the lighter sides so theres a little more contrast and it adds to the composition of the piece in my opinion.

Overall I definitely like Christian Marclay’s style of his cyanotypes. I think it is impressive how neatly he is able to produce them when cyanotypes can be extremely messy.
