Abelardo Morell
Abelardo Morell Abelardo Morell was born in Havana, Cuba in 1948. He went to Bowdoin College to receive a bachelor of arts and received a master of arts from Yale after that. He is well known for turning rooms into camera obscuras and combining landscapes with textures to create new abstract images (Wikipedia). The first image I am choosing to talk about is this one. I am really intrigued by Morell’s work because of the way he creates installations. I think it’s interesting how he combines his camera obscuras with specific settings of rooms. I think this image is interesting because the beds in the room are juxtaposed against the view of the US capital and it really makes you stop and wonder about what message he could possibly be trying to portray through this image because its not something you would see every day.
